Construction of Yagoori Hospital Fencing
Yagoori village is a village located 57km west of lasanod which is the home of approximately 1200 HHs. The community`s main livelihood activity is the Agro-pastoralism; particularly camels and shoats being the main livestock kept. This community has identified to contribute a community project of construction of hospital wall fencing. The community contribution amount is 11000 USD which is equal to 50% of the total cost of the community project where ADRA will cover other remaining costs.
The village has a committee called Village Community Committee who are responsible for the leading the community development activities. The chairman or head of village who is nominated by the government and he is the chairman of the village committee. This committee is sometimes regarded as village development committee (VDC) who are involved in the community contribution activities. This committee opened a back account for community contribution of the project for construction of hospital wall fencing.
This community project is an example of how, with a small community contribution and the strong commitment of community leaders and members which will improve the community involvement and sustainability of the community development.
