BALGURE SHALLOW WELL & WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM (Acc-003)

Balgure village lies at west of Afgoye town. The current population of Balgure village is estimated approximately 5000 households. The predominant livelihood in Balgure village is completely agro-pastoral. The livelihood dependent of Balgure communities is farming livestock keeping, labour work at nearby farms within the area, few among the communities practice integrated business such as operating shops within in Afgoye market during market days in selling surplus such as vegetables and other productions as source to sustain their daily income. The available infrastructures located in Balgure village consist of several Mosques, boreholes, private schools Balgure is among the villages affected by floods during seasonal rain causing displacement of hundreds of people most of them farmers who lost hectares of farmlands and farm products in granaries reserved for future consumption and for sale leaving affected families with no alternative means of livelihood. The Project will use the Bulshokaab platform to track the transactions of the bank accounts and contributions from community members and the diaspora. Through Bulshokaab, members of the public will be able to access these financial transactions by visiting www.Bulshokaab.com. Community contributions amounting to $10,340 are expected to contribute by the residents of Baalgure and its diaspora.
