Kheyr Cabdile Village Shalow well project
Kheyr Cabdile village is a bird’s eye away from Hudur town. You can see the faded site of the town from the village where most of the villagers are agro-pastoralists. The identified site for the shallow well is 1 KM from where the villagers live. One of the water management committee members pointed out why they choose a distant site from the village saying that they are sure they can find fresh water at the site. The area has features of a swampy area as compared to where the villagers live which has very red soil that is associated with the salinity of underground water.
The Water management committee which consists of 10 men and three women confirmed that a hydrological survey was done 20 days ago (as told on 3/23/2019). “Villagers trek for more than 45 minutes to the nearest water sources says one of the WMC members and it would be better if had a shallow well in this area to ease our burden.
The Village members passionately ask you donate to help support the shallow well Project Dream to bring water near to their homes.
SomRep and ACF granted 19,862 USD for the shallow well establishment. Kheer Abdille village community raised $3348 to bring water to the villages closer and to the school. Shaqodoon mobilized south west state communities to raised funds for the crowd funding projects. Shaqodoon with project committees raised contributions from communities in Hudur and other towns in Somalia.
ACF completed the digging of Kheer Abdille shallow well. Thanks to SomRep partners and the EU as the donor of the crowding funding project, Kheer Abdille village residents and near areas have clean and sufficient water for consumption and irrigation of their farms.
